Adding templates to spaces
Adding templates to shared spaces requires specific permissions. To upload, create, or duplicate templates within a shared space, you must have “Manage templates” permissions for that specific space. Without this shared space permission, you will not see the buttons to add templates, regardless of your company user permissions.
Add templates to a space
Building a robust shared Template space allows all users to generate consistent, company-approved contracts. You can use any of the following methods to add new templates:
Open the shared template space from the Templates main menu tab, click on the blue New template drop-down menu at the top right-hand side of the screen (or in the middle of the screen for empty template spaces) and select Create a blank template to build one from scratch using the Contractbook editor.
Click the blue New template button and select the Create a template from Word option from the drop-down menu to upload an existing .docx file. The system will convert your Word document into an editable Contractbook-native template saved directly in the selected shared space.

Duplicate one of your private templates, or browse your company shared templates and pick an existing template to duplicate directly within the space.

Browse the Contractbook Template library and add pre-made, lawyer-approved templates directly to the shared space.

Frequently asked questions
Why should I use shared Template spaces?
We recommend always building your company's core templates in a shared Template space rather than your private space. This ensures that all company users can seamlessly access
the most up-to-date versions of your reusable contracts for their daily work and automated workflows.
How can I find a specific template to add to the shared space?
You can easily locate the exact template you need by using the Search box, language filters and sorting drop-down options located at the top of the screen when adding new templates.

How can I see who else has access to the template space and the templates I added?
You can check who has access and what permissions they hold by clicking the Manage access button within the space. You can also look at the small user and user group icons at the top right-hand side of the screen for a quick overview.
