Contract review
The contract review page is a dedicated additional step in your contract drafts’ creation designed to prevent errors before the final contract is sent to your recipients for signatures.
Open your contract draft and ensure you have completed editing the body text, added all required parties and connected them to signees.
This will activate the Review and sign button.

Click the Review and send button in the top right corner to transition from the contract draft editor to the contract review page.
On the review page, you can perform the following final checks and actions before sending your contract:

Review parties and signees
Use the main grid labeled Parties and signees at the top of the page. This table provides an overview of all added contract parties, their connected signees, email address, their signing order (if you already set one in the drafting mode) and any other additional contact details you have added to each of them (such as title, name, address).
Click the badge in the signing Order column if you need to change the sequence in which the recipients will sign the contract.
Select your preferred method from the Set signing order modal (choose between Sign in specific order, Everyone signs at the same time, or Sign in groups from the dropdown list).
Drag the signees to reorder their specific order from the same modal.
Click the blue Save button to confirm your new signing order.
Hover over a signee's name in the table and click the Edit icon (the pencil) to open the parties and signees editorial module - you can use it to make any changes.
Click the Signature type badge next to a signee's email in the overview to select a different option (or multiple different options at once) from the dropdown menu.
Enable the Apply selection to all signees option from within this dropdown if you want every signee to use the same signature method(s).

Add a message to recipients
Scroll down to the Message to recipients text box.
Type a personalized note to include in the email notification sent to your signees via email. This step is optional, but it helps provide context for your contract recipients or collaborators.

Manage tasks
Navigate to the tasks section right below the message box.
Click the Add task button to expand the full list of contract tasks types you can create. You can pick any existing type of task from the dropdown list, or create a custom task for other contract obligations.
Alternatively, you can use the dedicated boxes to create reminders for renewal dates, review or approval tasks. Read our guide to learn more about managing tasks.

Preview the contract
Before sending, you can use the contract review page to check exactly how your document will look to signees or collaborators receiving it.
Click the Contract preview button on the right side of the screen.

View the real example of how this specific contract will look when it lands at the recipient's end.
Click the blue Edit contract button at the bottom of the preview window if you spot a mistake and need to go back to the editing mode.

Send the contract for signature
Click the green Send for signatures button in the top right corner of the review page when everything is verified and ready.

The contract status will immediately change from Draft to Pending.

Frequently asked questions
What is the default signature type?
For Contractbook drafts, the default signature type is SMS Verification.
However, if you created your draft from an existing template or contract, the new draft will inherit the signature type that was set on the original document.
If you are signing a PDF using the "Draw to sign" feature, the signature type will automatically default to Draw a signature as the only possible option and cannot be changed to a different signature method.

What are my options if I am also a signee on the contract?
If you use the contract Review page, and you are also included as a signee, you will see a dropdown arrow next to the green send button at the top right corner.
Select Send and sign if you want to immediately sign the contract on your behalf right after initiating the send process.
Select Send now and sign later if you prefer to wait and sign the contract later after it has been already sent for signatures to the rest of the recipients.

Can I share the draft directly from the review page?
Yes. If you need another company user or other collaborator to look over the finalized contract details before sending for signatures, or to fill in specific details in the data or metadata fields, you can click the Share button at the top of the review page to invite collaborators to the draft.

Select the needed level of shared access for the collaborator and confirm by clicking the blue Share button in the modal.
