Generate API keys on Contractbook
To understand how to create an API key or where to find API tokens to connect Contractbook with external tools, follow these steps for your personal or company-wide integrations:
Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the platform.
Select Profile settings from the drop-down menu.
Click Contractbook’s API tab in the left-hand sidebar.
Click the blue Add button to create a new key.
Type a descriptive name in the Title field for your key (for example: Salesforce CRM Integration).
This will help you locate the key later.
Enter the required destination link in the Callback URL field, if it is required for your integration.
Click the blue Add button to generate a new key.
API access key security
For maximum security, you must copy and store your API access key in a dedicated password manager immediately after generation. Your API access key will only be visible once. As soon as you navigate away from the page or log out of your Contractbook account, the key will disappear and cannot be retrieved again. If you lose your key and need it later on, you must revoke it and generate a new one to re-establish your integrations.
Generate SCIM API keys
If you want to setup SCIM integration to automate user provisioning by connecting Contractbook with Identity Providers like Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, the Company SCIM API keys must be generated for you by our Support team.
Follow these steps to initiate the setup:
Contact our Support Team to request your SCIM token. In your request, specify the following:
The user email address associated with your company Contractbook account that will manage the integration.
The Identity Provider type you will set up (Okta or Microsoft Entra ID).
Enter the generated token you receive from our Support team into your Identity Provider’s configuration settings to bridge the connection.

Revoke API keys
If an external tool is no longer in use or an API key has been compromised, you should revoke access immediately to protect your company's data.
Click your profile icon in the top right corner and select Profile settings from the drop-down menu.
Click Contractbook’s API tab in the left-hand sidebar.
Locate the API key you wish to remove from the list.
Click the blue Remove button next to the specific key.
The generated key will get immediately removed.
