Save a template as a new template
Creating a new version of a template from an existing one requires specific permissions. To access and save a template from a shared company space, you must have at least “View” rights to that specific space. Ensure you have this access before proceeding, or contact your company administrator for help.
Once you have access, follow these steps to save a template as a new, identical template:

Save as a new template
This method allows you to quickly create an exact copy of a template to use as a starting point for a different workflow or department.
Click on the Templates tab from the main navigation menu at the top of the screen.
Locate and click on the name of the template you wish to copy to open it in the editor.
Click the three dots icon located in the top right-hand corner next to the document title.
Select Save as a new template from the dropdown menu.

Locate your new template
Whenever you save a template as a new version, Contractbook creates an identical, independent copy. For users in a company account, the system automatically places this new version in the Company templates space.
The new template is automatically saved in the Company templates space.
To find it, navigate to the Templates tab and look under the Shared section in the left-hand sidebar.
Click on Company templates to view your new file. It will be located at the top of the listed templates. This remains the default storage location even if you originally accessed the source template from a different shared template space.

Move a template to a private space
If you need to use the new template for private purposes or individual drafting, you can move it to a private template space.
Find the template in the Company templates list.
Click the three dots icon next to the template name.
Select the option to Move to a space and choose your desired Private template space from the dropdown menu.

Create a new private space while moving a template
If you do not have an existing private template space ready, you can create one during the move process:
Click the Select space dropdown menu in the Move template to a space modal.
Select the + Add a template space option at the very bottom of the list.
Type a unique name for your new template space in the Name field (e.g., "New Sales templates").

Click the blue Create button.
Now the private template space is created, and you can select it from the dropdown list.
Click the blue Move template button to finalize the action.

A copy will land in your chosen private template space.
Note: the original template version in the Company templates space will remain there for the rest of your organization, unless you delete it.
