Delete a contract space
Deleting a shared contract space requires specific permissions. To delete a contract space shared with you, you must have the “Manage space” permission enabled for this specific space.
Delete an empty contract space
If there are no contracts currently added to the space, deletion is very straightforward.
Click on the Contracts tab from the main navigation menu.
Locate the specific contract space in the left-hand sidebar.
Click on the three small grey dots next to the space title.
Select the Delete space option from the menu.
Delete a space containing contracts
If a contract space currently includes contracts, you cannot delete it directly. If you try, the system will prevent the action and display an error message.
To successfully delete the space, you must empty it first:
Open the contract space you want to delete.
Select all contracts within the space.
Move the contracts to a different contract space (such as your private space), or delete the contracts entirely if they are no longer needed.
Note: You can only delete drafts, pending and rejected contracts. Fully signed contracts can be deleted with a request sent to our Support team. Click here to learn more about this action.
Once the space is completely empty, follow the steps in the section above to delete it.
Frequently asked questions
Why am I getting an error when trying to delete a space?
If you see an error stating "You cannot delete a non-empty space," it means there are still contracts added to it. You must delete or move all contracts to a different space before the system will allow you to delete the space itself.
What happens if I delete a contract space that contains sub-spaces?
If you delete a main contract space that has sub-spaces nested within it, the entire structure will be deleted. This permanent deletion includes the main space, and all of its sub-spaces.
