Delete a signed contract
Deleting a signed contract requires specific permissions. To delete a fully signed contract from your company contracts, you must have rights to “Manage all contracts” enabled on your user account. Ensure you have this permission enabled before proceeding, or contact your Company administrator for help.
If you want remove a signed contract from your active repository, you can follow these steps:
Click on the Contracts tab from the main navigation menu.
Locate the signed contract you want to delete in the relevant contract view, or contract spaces section and click on the three dots context menu to the right of its title in the overview list.
If you open the contract first, click on the three dots context menu in the top right corner.
Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
Click the red Yes, delete permanently button in the confirmation window to finalize the removal.
What happens when a contract is deleted?
When you delete a signed contract, it is immediately removed from any contract spaces, company views, including your private contract views, and placed into a hidden company garbage bin.
External signees: Deleting a contract for your company means that a copy of the contract can still remain accessible for signees or direct shares that were initiated with anyone outside your company users.
Recovery: Because there is currently no user interface for the garbage bin, you cannot review or restore the files yourself. If you deleted a signed contract by mistake and need to restore it, you mustcontact our Support team for technical assistance.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the delete option greyed out?
If the delete option is greyed out when you access the three dots menu, it means you only have view shared permissions for this signed contract. You will see a tooltip indicating that a teammate manages the contract. You must ask the contract creator or a company user with the “Manage all contracts” permission enabled to delete it for you.
