Add public comments to a draft

Adding public comments requires specific permissions in the contract draft. To create public comments, you must have at least the "View and comment on document" shared permission, be the draft creator, or have “Manage all contracts” company user permission which will enable you adding comments in your company contract drafts

Add comments in Comment mode

  • Open the contract draft you want to comment on from the Contracts menu tab.

  • Click on the Comments and suggestions icon in the right-hand sidebar to activate the Comment mode.

  • Double-click on the word, phrase, or paragraph you want to discuss and click on Add comment.

  • Select Public comment from the drop-down menu in the dialogue box.

  • Type your text into the dialogue box that automatically appears.

  • Click the blue Comment button to confirm. Your comment is now visible in the right-hand sidebar.

  • What happens to all comments when the contract draft is sent for signature?

Commenting is a collaborative feature intended only for the contract drafting phase. Once you send the contract for signature, all public comments are permanently removed from the document to ensure a clean, finalized agreement for your signees.

  • Will comments reappear if I save a pending contract as a new draft?

No. When a draft is sent for signature, all public and private comments are permanently removed to create a clean, finalized agreement. If you later choose to save a pending contract that had comments during its drafting, as a new draft, the system generates a fresh new draft. The original comments will not carry over or reappear in the new contract draft.
