Mention collaborators and use private comments
Adding private comments requires specific permissions in the contract draft. To create private comments, you must have at least the "View and comment on document" shared permission with enabled “Can access private comments & suggestions” right, be the draft creator, or have “Manage all contracts” company user permission which will enable you adding comments in your company contract drafts.

Mention collaborators in comments
Tagging a collaborator notifies them and grants them access to the specific comment thread.
Open the contract draft and click the Comments and suggestions icon in the right-hand sidebar.
Double-click on the text you want to comment and mention somebody on and start typing your comment.
Type on click on the @ sign to expand a list of your active company users.
Select the user from the list, or scroll down to invite a user by inserting their email address.
Inviting users by mentioning them in the Comment dialog box will automatically share the contract draft with “Can view” and enable “Can access private comments & suggestions” access given to them.
Click on the blue Share button to confirm the shared draft’s access.
You can review the details of the shared access by clicking on the Share button at the top right-hand corner of the contract draft.

Create private comments
Private comments allow your company users to communicate internally without exposing the details to any external counter-parties or collaborators.
Open the contract draft from the Contracts menu tab and click on the Comments and suggestions icon in the right-hand sidebar.
Double-click on the text in the draft body you want to comment on and click on Add comment.
Use the drop-down option in the dialogue box to select the Private comment option.
Private comments are displayed with a "private" label and a lock-key icon underneath the comment body.
Type your comment’s text into the dialogue box.
Click the blue Comment button to confirm. Your comment is now visible in the right-hand sidebar.

Visibility of private comments
To allow collaborators to view and reply to private comments, you must enable the Access to Private Comments and Suggestions toggle in the sharing module when granting them draft access.
Collaborators or external parties without this specific access will only see public comments and will not have the drop-down option to switch to private comments type.
