Resolve comments in a contract draft
Resolving comments requires specific permissions. To edit the text and resolve comments in a contract draft, you must have at least the "Edit document" shared permission, or you must be specifically mentioned in a comment by the draft creator, or anyone with “Full access” to the draft. To resolve private comments in company contract drafts, you need to have “Manage all contracts” user permission.
Review and resolve comments
When a collaborator mentions you in a comment, you will receive an email and an in-app notification.
Open the draft by clicking the link in your email or in-app notification.
Click the Comments and suggestions icon in the right-hand sidebar to view all unresolved comments.
Click on the comment in the sidebar to locate the highlighted and underlined text related to the comment within the body of the draft.
Make the necessary changes directly in the draft body by activating the editing mode and disabling the Preview option.
Once all changes to the draft’s body are made, click on the highlighted in blue Resolve button next to the comment in the Comments and suggestions sidebar.
You will receive a confirmation of the resolved comment and it will now be moved to the “Resolved” overview in the Comments and suggestions sidebar.
Click the blue Save button at the top of the draft editor once the comments are resolved.
Next steps after resolving comments
Depending on your permission levels, resolving all comments leads to two possible next steps:
If you have permission to send the draft for signatures: Click the green Review and send button to review all contract details and initiate the signing process.
If you do not have permission to send the draft for signatures: The contract draft creator or collaborator who added you to the comment will receive an automated notification that you have resolved the comments. They can then review the changes and send the draft for signatures on their end.
